A small release with one job: making sure the widget on your Home Screen believes you when you say you're Pro.
Your widget forgot you were Pro
You'd upgraded. The app knew. And yet a Live countdown widget would sometimes sit there insisting "Live countdown is a Pro feature." — like a bouncer who has already seen your ticket and would like to see it again.
Here's what was going on. On a cold launch, the app told its widgets "not Pro" a fraction of a second before it had actually asked the App Store, then corrected itself once the answer came back. Usually the widget caught the correction. Sometimes it didn't, and stayed locked until the next time you opened the app.
Fixed. The app now only speaks to its widgets once it knows the answer — and it asks the "are you Pro?" question first, ahead of the slower price lookup, so there's barely a moment where it doesn't know.
Live Activities stop restarting themselves
Same cause, different symptom: the Lock Screen countdown would quietly end and re-arm itself every time the app launched, briefly wearing a wordmark it had no business wearing on a Pro account. It now stays put.
Under the hood
This build also carries a privacy manifest. It declares that we collect nothing and track nothing — which was already true, but now it's true in a file Apple can read.
We hate release notes that say "bug fixes and improvements". They're the "we need to talk" of software. So here's what actually happened.
Live countdown: now live in the app, not just near it
1.1.0's Live countdown — a proper ticking DD:HH:MM:SS — worked beautifully on the widget. In the app, you'd select it, the app would nod thoughtfully, and your event card would carry on saying "14 sleeps to go" as if nothing had happened. Technically a countdown. Not what anyone meant by live.
Fixed. The app and widget now make this decision in one shared place, so they can't disagree again. Pick Live, get live.
The case of the sideways labels
On the live widget face, the captions — hrs, min, sec — sat visibly to one side of the digits they were meant to be labelling. We measured how far. We'd rather not say.
The layout now guarantees each caption shares its digits' geometry, and everything stays lined up while the numbers tick.
Lock Screen and Dynamic Island: no squishing, no dashes
The Dynamic Island pill would truncate longer countdowns into "31:53:…" — less a countdown, more a cliffhanger. And the Lock Screen sometimes rendered seconds as literal dashes, like your countdown was redacting itself. (Turns out iOS refuses to tick seconds beyond about an hour on the Lock Screen — fair enough — but it draws dashes instead of telling anyone.)
Every surface now shows the countdown the way you'd say it out loud — "1 day, 7 hrs". Always fits, never truncates, never promises a precision the system won't deliver.
